Consider the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 OS instead. It has faster more reliable autofocus in low light, and IQ that matches the Canon 17-55 f/2.8. Since your 7D has microfocus adjustment you don't have to worry about the main complaint about Sigma which is focus calibration.

I've had no issues with the Tamron 17-50 in the darkest of wedding ceremonies or receptions.
