Technical Question: RAW Versions

Hello everybody:

After reading the spec sheet of the new Sony RX-100, I noticed the ARW is now V2.3

I've noticed how the versions have changed over time, which is the reason why RAW processing software need to upgrade to be able to deal with the new RAW versions.

My question is: what exactly is changed or altered in the new RAW versions?

I think the ARWs from my A700 are V2.1 or 2.2, but what's the difference between that one and this new V2.3?

Color reproduction? Noise handling? What exactly?
