Need a compact zoom, Will ZS20 suffice?

Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy a pocketable zoom. I have narrowed it down to zs20 or hx20v. I like to photograph birds , so i was wondering which of these two wud be a better option regarding the clarity at long end and IS and sharpness etc at the telephoto end. Any other inputs regarding other compact zooms wud also be appreciated . Thanks
