D800 vs 5DM3 ISO 12,800
Jun 6, 2012

I did this in attempts to reproduce dpreview's High ISO tungsten comparison between the 5DM3 and D800 (bottom of http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canon-eos-5d-mark-iii/22 )

Both using Zeiss MP 50mm @ f/2, tungsten lighting, equal exposure, D800 exposure pushed +.28 stops in post to match 5DM3's higher nominal ISO (otherwise the D800 would have an unfair advantage close to 1/3 stop), color calibrated via custom profiles off color calibrator chart, processed in CS5/ACR 6.7 with all defaults except WB and color profile, both downsized to 12MP via CS5 bicubic.

Normal exposure:

Underexposed by 3 stops:

Canon EOS 5D Nikon D800
