matt papers have a very poor colour gamut and don't reflect like gloss type paper.

personally I don't know why anyone would print on matt papers anymore

So many people like to use matte papers for prints they display in galleries but I have a lot of trouble getting bright colors on matte papers. And it's so obvious in softproofing; a print that looks great softproofed on a glossy or satin paper looks dead and dull on matte. I find that's exactly what happens on the actual print too. Am I using the wrong matte papers? Doing something wrong when I edit for print?
