I'm looking for a good tripod for my Canon 550D, and don't know which one to choose, as there are so many brands & models on the market.

Anyone here can recommend a good one(brand&model)?

TIA

I had a Manfroto/Bogen for over 20 years that I recently gave to a family member. It served me well and is still going strong. You can’t go wrong with most Manfrotos.

Six months ago I tried this Slik Pro DX700. I like it a lot. Its best feature is that it is extremely stable, even with heavy lenses. It might not be light enough to be considered for backpacking, but if light weight isn’t your top priority, I can easily recommend this tripod for its stability per dollar value. Check out the owners feedback on Amazon and B&H. For me stability was most important and this tripod delivers this.
