Color issues with Epson 4800
Jun 4, 2012

I have 2 printers and have recently noticed a color issue with my Epson 4800. The images that I print on the 4800 don't match my calibrated screen. I printed the same image from the same program using the same process, with the appropriate ICC profile, to my Epson 3800 and the colors were perfect. To better explain, the images on the 4800 were much lighter and contained less blue tones.

I've done a few troubleshooting steps:

1) Try a new paper with a new profile. So I changed from Epson roll paper in the 4800 to Ilford Smooth Pearl sheets and changed the profile accordingly. I got nearly the same print result.
2) I've cleaned the nozzles, etc.

What else can I try? I can replace the inks on the 4800, but want to exhaust other efforts first since that's a costly trial and error item. I can create custom profiles but that times a fair amount of time. I might have to do this.

Any other ideas?
