I'm gonna get a new camera soon. OM-D is one of the candidates. Not just for being a good camera but also because of telezoom lenses and their range and size. I want to get into birding and was thinking about the Panasonic 100-300 to go with the OM-D. Does that mean 200-600 on APS-C? If so, an equivalent APS-C lens is very big and heavy. The OM-D and the 100-300 would be a better option weight and price-wise wouldn't it plus I would get a very long reach? Please enlighten me if I've misunderstood things

Yes the Panasonic Lumix G 100-300mm is equivalent to an 35mm 200-600mm

And it is a sharp and fine lens

About the camera the choice is very good, but if you are not in a hurry you may want to compare to the Panasonic Lumix GH3, it will be launched soon, before Photokina 2012
