5D III - Selecting focus points on intersecting lines 3x3 grid in VF
Jun 3, 2012

I'm trying to frame my shots using the rule of thirds, and I have enabled the 3x3 grid in the view finder, but no matter which autofocus point selection I choose, when I try to manually select a point, it will not go as far as where the x & y lines intersect in any of the far corners of the grid.

I have only been able to achieve this in LiveView because I can move the focus box to the far corners. The only other way I can frame the shot for thirds is using the 3x3 grid in the view finder and then manually focus.

Please tell me there a way to use the view finder and manually move the focus point within the various intersections of the 3x3 grid. I thought I turned on the option to have more point selection enabled, but it does not seemed to have worked.
