CS6 upgrade

It appears that CS6 upgrade is only available directly through Adobe. Is this a new policy that they plan to keep on a permanent basis? Or is it just a temporary launch-related policy?
If the latter, does anyone know what the upgrade will cost through 3rd party vendors like Amazon?
