CH 14bit slow? help

Has anyone experienced slow shooting RAW "CH" in 14bit?
I have tried compring it with a couple D300 user friends and theirs seems to not have the problem. I think i have tried looking for something to tweak and still could not figure it out. I even tried reinstalling the newest firmware. Greatly appreciated if someone could help me out here!
