EXR goobledegook? lol! I had the EXR200 and the 550 version. The EXR system is quite simple- basically you can only shoot half full size and adjust the DR for what you can get away with at the time. Fabulous image quality compared to the average Nikon. Try shooting something like a wedding or a snow scene and you will see where the EXR system comes into its own. I know you wont use an EXR compact at a wedding, but actually they take better pictures (DR wise) than the average Nikon- I know cause I've been there.
