OMD tip - quick change between AF-S and AF-C
Jun 2, 2012
|
Found a quick way using Live Control Panel or Super Control Panel
Steps (first time)
1. Hit OK to bring up the Live Control panel
2. Use Down Arrow to locate your AF setting on the column of icons on right side of display
3. Rotate the default primary control dial (one around the shutter release) to advance to AF-C or AF-S
4. Hit OK
NOW, next time you hit OK, Live Control Panel comes up, and is ALREADY focused on AF settings (in other words, Live Control will remember the last setting you chose to change, and come up focused on that setting so you don't have to use up/down arrows at all)! SO, after doing 1-4 above, steps to switch between AF-S and AF-C come down to just 3 and can easily be done by feel while looking through the VF .
Steps (second time, or after doing 1-4 above)
1. Hit OK
2. Rotate primary control dial RIGHT (clockwise) one detent to get from AF-S to AF-C, or LEFT one detent to go from AF-C to AF-S
3. Hit OK
Pretty quick. Not as quick as if I could assign AF to one of the buttons, but still fast.
Now maybe someone will figure out how to assign AF to a button.
Hope this helps!
