5D and 1D on TV

Veep is a new HBO series starring Louis-Dreyfuss as the Vice President. In a recent episode, she's being followed around by an annoying official veep photographer. In one scene, the photog is seated next to a really annoying egotistical snobbish nobody from the President's office. The conversation went something like this (not verbatim) -

(snob) What camera you're using?
A 5D.
A 5D, not a 1D. I have a 1D.
A 1D is a good camera.
Yeah, it's top of the line. Why do you use a 5D?

Do you take thousands of pictures of herons trying to catch fish or sports? No, so why do you have a 1D?
Well, 1D is top of the line. I have a 1D.

Obviously, the scriptwriter has been reading this forum!
