Total number of samples needed / sample-rate = number of focus steps needed. 2x sample-rate = 1/2x number of steps needed, but to cover the same range/distance the steps need to be double as large.

This of course is all speculation and derivation from what I perceive and can be utterly wrong. Still "High" frame rate makes the motor move faster, so something along the lines seems to be happening.
