The moon is a satellite

A planet (from Ancient Greek αστήρ πλανήτης (astēr planētēs), meaning "wandering star") is a celestial body orbiting a star or stellar remnant that is massive enough to be rounded by its own gravity, is not massive enough to cause thermonuclear fusion.

The moon has it's own gravity, but is not massive enough to cause thermonuclear fusion.

It is a satellite, but as other planet's moons are called planets so can ours.
This is I meant to say.
