Epson R2400 ink channel cleaning.

Why is it that when cleaning blocked channels, just as one channel gets cleared of a blockage (after several cleaning cycles) then another one that previously was okay suddenly becomes blocked?

Is there some sort of software control designed to make you use up your ink faster?
