I'm heartened to see that Fuji is still diversifying into other technological arenas, not just sticking to photography.

I'm also interested to hear - from the horse's mouth as it were - that a Fuji buy-out of Leica wasn't on the cards .... due to Leica's primary focus on becoming a 'brand'. How long before only the truly wealthy can afford Leica (digital era) equipment?

One thing that interested me is that Fujifilm apparently considered buying Leica at one point, but passed. One of the reasons is that Leica has a different business model, being a premium brand.

Also, Fujifilm is in the process of making a bid to buy Olympus, but they don't think the deal will go through. As Komori says in the interview, if he were the CEO of Olympus, he would make "every effort to remain independent".
