Why? The only difference is that the D lenses allow the camera to read distance information, which may or may not be useful for flash photography (with on-camera flash). Otherwise the 60/2.8 AF and the 60/2.8 AF-D are the same beast. Of course the newer 60/2.8 is optically different.
I once had the 60/2.8 AF-D and never liked its bokeh. Also, it wasn't all that great at infinity. The 60/2.8 AF-S, which I bought later, is much better in both respects.
