I am shooting with a Canon S95 now and am considering an X10, and this is an interesting question.

My S95 LCD instantly shows the effect of over/under exp comp, changes in WB, scene modes, etc. In M mode, the LCD brightens/darkens as I change aperture/shutter, and there's a scale to show how under/over exposed it is. In other words, the LCD is a good indicator of what the shot will look like.

Is this not true with an X10?
