IF it is a panasonic sensor, the noise looks similar to a Sony sensor (unlike say the E-5 type of noise).

So IF it is a Panasonic sensor then it must either have different read out and processing (basically making it a unique product and NOT the G3 sensor) or Olympus has stumbled across some stunning software tweaks (unlikely).

It has better noise, better DR and better colour than the G3, to my eyes it is a different sensor for whatever reasons.
