raw or jpeg?

no offense but millions of people believe in an invisible man who hears every murmur spoken. dont go off of the opinion of the masses, go off of what is logical.

Raw takes up more space in memory, that should tell you it has more detail. If you are concerned with detail you will want to shoot raw anytime you can. when can you not? maybe if you dont have a conversion tool (unlikely as some cameras even have in-camera conversion), but if you happen to be without that ability then sure shoot jpeg.

If you want to use picture effects like B&W i believe you will have to use jpeg. other than the above, theres no reason to not shoot raw.
