Got my D800, randomly.

While I still had been waiting for a D800, ordered in February, I accidentally saw a solitary specimen in a large multimedia store. After a brief consideration of 0.00007 seconds, I grabbed it. The price paid was CHF 2900 -, little higher than the price of the ordered and not yet received body. That was last week on Wednesday. The day after I already did a paid job with my newly bought Nikon. The behavior is very similar to my old D700 so the learning curve was very short. Anyway, 2/3 of the pictures I still took with my D700. I experienced no AF- or other issues so far. The only thing that annoys me is the greenish cast under tungsten and mixed lightning. It is easily removable but nonetheless time consuming. Here are a few pictures, taken with various lenses. Even the pictures with my weakest lens, the old 18-35 f3.5-4.5, look fine to me. I'm still collecting more experience, but by now I can already tell that:
-This thing needs really fast cards (SanDisk Extreme Pro 95 MB/s are o.k.)
-The D800 does not accept my Kingston 266X CF-Cards
-Works perfectly with all SanDisk CF- and SD-Cards, even with the slow ones.
-The Hi-ISO performance is stunning, definitely better than that of the D700/D3
-The auto white balance under tungsten and mixed lightning is to greenish.
-AF ist fast and accurate. All AF-Points (including the outer left) work perfectly.
I hope that all who are still waiting for the D800, will be getting their D800 soon.
Many Regards from Switzerland
