Barcelona, Spain... Advise needed.

Not sure this is the place to ask, but I am going to try anyway.

Looks like I am off to spain end next week and will likely have a friday to monday break on my own, before meeting an appointment a little further south.

I have not been in the area for years, But the city itself I think I can handle, but I want to get out in the open for a little landscape quality time.

Any recommendations?
Empty rock beaches somewhere within driving range?
Rivers and waterfalls to hike to in the mountains behind it?
Recommendations on where to stay?

Any other useful info?
