Teaching something that is obviously wrong serves nobody. It sows misinformation and will generate confusion in the student who gives the matter a moment's thought. Assuming that your students won't notice obvious problems in what you are teaching is both arrogant and disrespectful of your students.
Why argue in favor of something that is clearly wrong and confusing when it's not hard to teach the correct thing?
