i played around with it a bit and found that setting the peaking level to low helps. With F2 or 2.8 @high the peaking area is simply deeper than the actual focal plane, therefore I often missed the critical accuracy.
in the meantime i have gotten fairly quick at zooming + correcting which is more accurate afterall. but it makes it feel quite manual, you have to really concentrate to get focus + timing + framing. but well worth it
