Yes, the default 4 hour auto power off is enabled. I now switched it to 5 minutes to check if it kicks in at all or if the battery was just drained before those 4 hours. Since the screen displays a blinking orange icon whenever data is transferred it should well be able to detect when nothing was transferred for 4 hours (computer off).

The all black OLED and black-on-black switch makes it rather difficult to notice whether the camera is still on or not, unless you take a very close look at the switch position.

Concerning the EVF eye-sensor: I suspect that the lid of the glove-box kept the viewfinder awake. But frankly I find that somewhat strange an implementation. If someone keeps his eye on the VF for 4 hours without touching any button it can safely be assumed that the camera can fall asleep just as much as much the user probably did.
