I'm cautiously optimistic about the D800E's video capabilities.

In video mode it is the downscaling process which is responsible for almost 100% of the moire.

So removing the anti-aliasing filter has no affect on moire in video mode, but does increase sharpness at a per-pixel level.

I've not verified this yet so buy with caution, but the video I have seen from the D800E looked great.

I suggest to try and get your hands on one on a temporary basis and trying it out before laying down any money.
