The xxxxx3 serial numbers are not repaired units. They are units that were manufactured without the defect, so they never had to be re-opened....if I’m not mistaken.

.......and are you SURE yours is clean as a whistle? Did you focus your eyeball on every part of the viewfinder?

Basically, what you need to do is remove the lens and aim the camera at a brightly lit object like a lamp so that the viewfinder is well-lit. Then, you need to make sure your eyeball is actually focusing on every part of the viewfinder. It’s easy to miss the debris. It took me a couple of minutes and three attempts to find the debris in the cameras I got.
