The 70-200 2.8G VRII
May 26, 2012

Judging from reviews and posts in forums the 70-200 seems to be a mighty fine lens. But compared to primes, is it only a good zoom? Is it good for a zoom lens but can it be compared with a for example 85 mm prime?

I guess I just wondering how good it would be on my D800 and if I would loose a lot image quality compared with my primes. I'm thinking of getting the 70-200, let the 85 1.4G and 105G go and then keep my 35 1.4.

I can't keep them all and I would really like some reach. Too bad Nikon doesn't have longer affordable primes like Canon.

But again - will I be disapointed with the 70-200 on the D800?
