05-20-12 Annular Solar Eclipse - Under the Ring of Fire!

It looks as though Celerondon already answered everyone's questions but I just want to reiterate a couple points he made.

Please - DO NOT place any of these filter materials behind any of the lens optics. You cannot use the drop-in filter location on a long prime lens for solar filtering. All of the filtering MUST be done prior to hitting the front element.

WildImages - If the filter you are talking about that is sold by OPT is "Solar Filter" material then YES it will work as long as it covers the front end of the lens.
