E-5 feather moire - Birds -
May 25, 2012
|
this is my first experience with significant moire after shooting with the E-5 for over a year.
Taken this morning in my backyard, this Rainbow Lorikeet let me get too close for the comfort of my E5's AA filter. Plus I was using a very sharp lens (ZD150/2) , plus I fired the on-board flash revealing maximum feather detail.
At first glance the image looks good, but zoom in and you can see a kaleidoscope of colour and pattern - look closely at the green wing area - almost all of the texture there is false !
Bird shooters , how often do you see this and how do you deal with it ?
