It's how I started (D5100+35 F1.8)
I added a Tamron 10-24mm for architecture and lanscape shots when travelling.
The rest I have access to through family and friends I rarely, if ever, use.

So I know almost nothing about DSLR photography and photography in general, but gonna order something tomorrow.

Basically I can get Nikkor 35 1.8 instead of kit 18-55VR for almost the same price. I consider that to be a financially good thing, but is it normal? What restrictions am I likely to experience? I mean what significant advantages do kit lenses have over mentioned prime?

The next thing, should I tend towards D3200 because of high pixel count hence nice cropping? Would it be much better than D5100 in my situation?

In my mind D3200:
+ Image cropping
+ New guide mode
+ Wi-fi dongle

+ Exposure bracketing
+ Swivel screen
+ Noticeably cheaper (50-60 euros) in my country

Thanks for suggestions
