I suggest you try what I do and AF fine tune your 1.4 lenses at f/2 instead of wide open. I bet that would solve your problem. Anyway, it is fairly unexcusable that the Nikon AF system does not yet include known offset values for Nikon 1.4 lenses, so I have no idea why you are inclined to go apologist on this issue. It is really shameful that they don't include their own lens' offsets in firmware.
