http://www.sonyalpharumors.com says that the A99 will be available in August and that his Sony sources say the biggest feature of the camera will be its low price. The A77 costs $1400 and the current best FF camera, the Nikon D800, costs $3000, So I think the $1999 level would really open up full frame to a whole new group of photographers if Sony can go that low and still make a competitive product.

Sony is in big financial trouble and the full frame Sony cameras have always been a money loser for them with very small sales numbers. Based on these facts, and the since Sony has no current full frame camera in production, it would be prudent that Sony leave the full frame market to Nikon and Canon at this time.

Making up the "facts" as you go, as usual. No one has insight in whether the FF cameras made any money or not. No one even has global sales numbers. The only sales numbers available are those from Japan, where the A900 outsold the D3X (several times) and the D3 and D3s.

If you are under the delusion Sony is in good financial shape, you might want to read this article instead of attacking the messenger.

You're ignoring his point on purpose right? You have no idea how successful any individual product from Sony is, NONE. The upcoming fullframe camera will be cheaper than the D800 and 5DIII and offer several advantages due to the SLT technology. It's perfectly plausible that it could be one of their most successful products.

Yeah, the Sony FF DSLRs were so successful that Sony decided to stop making FF cameras altogether, while still desperately trying to sell off the remaining four year old a900's still gathering dust on warehouse shelves. Good plan, I can't wait to see how that works out for them!
