D800e Pano with Zeiss 100mm F2

I imagine that the Zeiss 100mm f/2, along with the D800e, is a stellar combination?

I'm also looking at this lens for panos. With the resolution of the D800(e), I should be able to stop shooting multiple row panos and go to single row only, as long as the glass is good enough.
