I think it shows how universal, subtle and complex these issues are.

There is a tendency to brand the Germany of the 1930's as evil, because it makes it easy to deal with something extremely complex. To say it was all Hitler's fault, makes it easy. Right vs wrong, black vs white, good vs evil. But it doesn't work like that. I have been fascinated by the history that led up to WWII for many years. And the underlying processes can be found in every society, at any time. It is only a matter of circumstances combining in a specific way to get normal, good, honest people to do atrocious things.

That's why I don't like it when people deal with Hitler as some inhuman monster. The humanity of the person Adolf Hitler holds so many clues as to what drives people to unspeakable acts. Hitler was a person like any other person, and that's what makes it so scary.
