Too much symmetry would not work with a fire - destroyed structure. The first shot has perspective altered in PS, otherwise the pillars would be at the thirty degrees. I've bent them nearly straight. To go further would, in my view, remove the chaotic, scary nature'of the story.

Way I see it both are attempts at symmetry / geometrical layout and as such are not achieving goal as neither is completely symmetrical, plus first one has horizon / pilars tilted so how one can then claim good composition?
