Also take a look to Pentax SMC-K 135mm f2.5. Great fast manual lens.

What's your opinion of the focus ring and easy of use when trying to combine it with the focus confirmation and catch in focus?

I'm trying to guage if I can use it for concert closeups as well.

A not-so-local store has one for a reasonable price and I'm thinking that I can work with it on the K-5, including for some concert duty, especially with the focus confirm and catch in focus.

Not only that, I believe I could make it work for street use.

Are there any downsides to it, besides being manual everything?

Yeah, sure. I'd love an AF FA77 or a Sigma 85 1.4, but the prices have become fairly horrific now. Much cheaper and smaller than the Samyang, though not as fast, naturally.

I highly recommend this lens. Some PF wide-open - really about the only thing that could be considered a drawback.

Very small, sharp, colorful, a MF 77ltd, almost.
