Keep in mind the 645D (and most of the 40 and 31MP Medium format cameras) are like the APS-C of medium format in that they have smaller 33x44mm sensors. The 50, 60, 80MP cameras have larger sensors that are closer to "full-frame" 645. Of course, just like full frame 35mm cameras are much more expensive than APS-C cameras, so are the larger sensor MFD's over there 31 and 40MP MFD's.

As far as value options go there are several that come in cheap. Phase/Mamiya/Leaf are clearing out their 22MP backs and you can get a camera, back, and lens for the price of just the pentax body (without the lens). The other issue with Pentax is they currently are not making many new lenses. Yes you can find older lenses, but if you plan on investing in the system, your options for new glass are very limited. Phase or Hassy have a much larger selection of new glass. Even Leica who's pretty new to the MFD market, has a larger selection of lenses.
