You want to know what's antagonizing? Some armchair general claiming that you can't make quality 20x30 prints without a D800. Not only is it demonstrably wrong, it's extra idiotic in light of what people have been doing for years.

What about armchair generals who believe 20x30 is a very large print?

No, a D800 isn't necessary in order to produce a large detailed print, but that doesn't change the fact it is the best tool for the job right now and those who print big, i.e. larger than A2, will see some benefit from using it.

Of course 20x30 isn't a very large print, did I suggest it was? It's a print size that is easily attainable. It's a print size that sells well. It's a print size where a buyer is not going to be able to differentiate between any of the recent Canon or Nikon full frame bodies.

For very large prints, everyone is doing large stitches or high-end MF backs whenever possible.
