I'm a pro surf photographer. The slowness (4 fps) of the D800 is a major concern, but the potential for cropping is a huge plus. So is the increase in dynamic range. For the time being, I'll continue to shoot with the D700 (in a waterhousing) and the D3s

I have to agree about the slowness of the D800, it almost has a hard time keeping up with paint drying. The DR and cropability is amazing, but if you are missing half your frames no amount of DR will be of any benefit.

What about a 16mp D700 update with a 100% VF?
Would seem to solve all the problems for buyers in this area
