OM-D Screwy IBIS ?
May 23, 2012

I was wondering if anyone experienced this issue I am facing with the OM-D E-M5's IBIS. Under certain circumstances, it seems the IBIS appears to be over compensating vertically. See the photos below.

Lens: Olympus 45mm f1.8
Settings: 1/125, f2, ISO1250, Aperture Priority

100% crop, both shots were handheld.
Top Pic - IS1
Bottom Pic - IS OFF

Now, when I set the IS to 3, which turns IS off Vertical IS, the issue goes away. If I use a higher ISO, so that I get a higher shutter speed of 1/250 or higher, the issue goes away too.

I am able to reproduce this over and over again, shooting other subjects.

Did I get an unit with a faulty IS ?
