No - its not worth the £££ - not in my opinion - its only about a stop faster than a kit lens!

But its not a bad lens by the looks of it - just a bit (lot) pricy!

Of course compacts can do that kind of IQ they can also rival ANY DSLR... given the right this that and the other.... but you can still clearly see this is not a poor lens, infact it looks good.

Personaly I wanted it to be F2.3 or faster - I know size an all but when it gets too dark for the kit lens 1 stop don't cut it.... My F2 glass only just keeps you going and realy the magic happens at F1.4... you can go on intot the night!

As it stands I think this lens should be £700, an F2 version £1400.
