Having Issues with my Raynox DCR-150

So I have it attached to my 55-250mm Lens and im having a real hard time focusing, is there a trick to this thing? (i just got it in the mail) keep in mind im indoors and trying to take some shots of these coins which are pretty much right in front of me. Anyway, any help or tips would be pretty epic.
