I have read through a lot of this non-educator nonsense.....yes nonsense. Most of the folks writing here on both sides know little of education other than what they experienced in K-12.

" Those who can, DO....those who teach, MASTER "

Most of the "teachers" - I prefer facillitators - started out with fairly good skils based on their graduation era. The best of those kept pace with the ever growing and evolving changes in education methodologies. (...and Yes- I used the word "evolution"...now those offended by the word, regarless of context can bitch and then go back to their trailerpark).

And just maybe that is one part of the problem, the great unwashed, unread, unrepentant mass claiming that religious teaching is better than science. Horsepucky.

No one wants to deny them their right to beleive in "pie in the sky" - but we do need to keep their ideas out of the classroom and too bad we can't those ideas out of politics. And that is a probelm of education also! We don't educate Citizens!

ANother problem with American education is the democratic notion that the parents ought have a right in establishing the curriculum - what nonsense! What parent has kept pace with the changing face of global politics, developments in SW Programming, the "M" Word and all the other subjects required to produce even a mediocre student. In fact how many parents know if their child's school even teaches "How to Study and Learn...or..."How To Open A New Book"?

The early, formative years are the best years to form a Citizen....instead we waste each generation trying to form an intolerant, bigoted, jerk just like Dad.

And it seems, thanks to religious opposition to actually planning for a cihild, that we keep having more and more dumb jerks wandering around. You know the ones that ask you a question ....and then when you answer, they ask "Are you sure?".

We'll never get out of this mess having more and more dumb resources users.
