Sony 16-50 vs. Tamron 17-50

As far as I can see, the best under 800$ zoom lenses for Sony Alpha are the Sony DT 16-50 f2.8 and the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 non-VC version. Please correct me if I forgot to include any lens in this comparison.

I recently read two reviews and it seems that the Tamron is better than the Sony. Take a look here: http://www.photozone.de/sony-alpha-aps-c-lens-tests/386-tamron_1750_28_sony?start=1 and here http://www.photozone.de/sony_nex/730-sony1650f28?start=1

On the other hand, the reviews on dyxum.com say that the Sony is miles ahead the Tamron. Which is the truth? Which lens is the best in terms of overall sharpness, contrast and colours?
