55-300mm lens sticking

I bought the Nikkor 55-300mm lens and it is sticking when I focus between 200 and 300mm. It is fine before 200mm. I have tried rotating the lens hoping it would loosen up but so far it hasn't. Any ideas or do I have to send it back to the factory? Thanks.
