Best Wide Angle Lens for 5DMk3? First Time FF User.

Ive read countless reviews comparing the 17-40 vs 16-35 and most seem to suggest going with the 17mm as its much cheaper and though a stop slower, a fantastic lens.

Would love to hear feedback from anyone that owns and/or have tried both of these.
