Someone suggested the CZ16-80mm. I believe however that you were not looking to spend that much, am I right?

I suggest you keep your 18-55mm and add the 35-105mm as a second lens.

I believe that the 35-105mm "original version" will certainly be an upgrade and you will use it much of the time. You will be hurting though if you give up the 18mm altogether, you will have a use it for wider angle shots because there is not always enough room to zoom out with your feet.
Use both lenses!

You might also want a 70-210mm F4 Beercan or the Minolta 70-210mm F3.5-4.5. Both are excellent, I own both of them. The 3.5-4.5 is much easier to carry around. Both make great images.
